A woman has been charged with the murder of a 10-year-old boy in west London, police say.
The boy was found dead at a home in Cumberland Park in Acton after a woman walked into a police station in the early hours of Sunday to speak to officers.
Olga Freeman, 40, is due to appear at Uxbridge Magistrates Court on Monday.
Police believe they have identified the boy, who was known to Freeman.
No one else is being sought in connection with his death.
The driveway was sealed off by police tape on Sunday afternoon and detectives went door-to-door speaking to neighbours.
Officers in protective forensic suits, gloves and masks were seen entering the property.
Reverend Nick Jones, 61, who lives in Cumberland Park, said news of the boy’s death was “shattering”.
“I’m still shaking a bit, it’s hugely upsetting,” he said.
Another neighbour said he was “in shock”.
