Ronda Rousey’s WWE contract signing ended in chaotic fashion as she attacked Triple H and threw him through a table.
All had been going to plan at the ceremonial event which took place as part of the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, live on Sky Sports Box Office on Sunday night.
Rousey spoke of how delighted she was to be in WWE and to be given the opportunity to achieve something which had been her dream for a long time. She paid tribute to Roddy Piper, who had given her both his blessing and the use of his “Rowdy” nickname.
Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, in full corporate money as the power couple of the company, spoke about how delighted they were to have Rousey on board and how they were only too happy to give her the opportunity to achieve something which had been her dream for a long time.
And then Kurt Angle started talking. He talked about how it was Triple H and Stephanie’s plan to bring in Rousey to get revenge for WrestleMania 31 – where she put McMahon in an armbar – and how they now “owned” her.
This did not sit well with Rousey, who threw Triple H through a nearby table to the absolute rage of his wife.
Stephanie stormed into the ring and slapped the former UFC champion, but did not hang around to discover the consequences of such an action.
