Britain is expected to swelter in the hottest day of the year so far this weekend and the heatwave is forecast to continue into next week.
Temperatures are set to rise above 30C (86F) in the South and South East – fully 10C (50F) above the average for the time of year.
The previous high was 29.4C (85F), recorded at Lossiemouth in Moray on 26 May, just beating the 28.6C (83F) seen in Blackpool.
Sky weather producer Rebecca Yussuf says those will be beaten this weekend: "Sunday and Monday are likely to bring us the highest temperatures of the year so far, with 30C (86F) expected on Sunday and at least 32C (90F) in some places on Monday.
"The warm sunny weather brings with it high UV levels and high or even very high pollen levels," she warned.
While parts of eastern Scotland could get into the mid-20s, other areas will miss out.
"Northern and western Scotland, and parts of both Northern Ireland and the Republic will see quite a lot of cloud and perhaps a few spots of rain. It’ll be notable cooler there too," she added.
:: Fears of drought after dry months
The glorious weather is likely to mean warm, muggy nights in London and the South East and the hot conditions will continue after the weekend for most parts, but conditions will cool down from the middle of next week.
Parts of the far north and north-west of Scotland, and the far west of Northern Ireland, could see some rain then, too.
