Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom welcome baby girl and reveal her name

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom say they are “floating with love” after the birth of their first child together.
The I Kissed A Girl hit maker and Lord Of The Rings star also confirmed the sweet flower name they’ve chosen for their daughter – Daisy Dove Bloom.
Perry has been hinting at the baby’s name for months, and the lead song on her forthcoming album is titled “Daisies”.
The couple introduced their “bundle of joy” through the international children’s charity UNICEF. Both Perry, 35, and Bloom, 43, are goodwill ambassadors for the United Nations charity.
They both shared a black and white photo of them holding Daisy’s tiny hand on their official Instagram accounts to tell fans the news.
They wrote: “We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter.
“But we know we’re the lucky ones and not everyone can have a birthing experience as peaceful as ours was. Communities around the world are still experiencing a shortage of healthcare workers and every eleven seconds a pregnant woman or newborn dies, mostly from preventable causes.
“Since COVID-19, many more newborn lives are at risk because of a greater lack of access to water, soap, vaccines and medicines that prevent diseases. As parents to a newborn, this breaks our hearts, as we empathise with struggling parents now more than ever.”
The British-American power-couple also set up a donation page to celebrate Daisy’s arrival, with money raised going towards new mothers and their children.
Bloom and Perry rounded off their statement with a double-pun, writing: “By supporting UNICEF, you are supporting a safe start to life and re-imagining a healthier world for every child. We hope your (heart) can bloom with generosity.”
It’s a double-whammy for Perry, who will release her new album, Smile, on Friday.
The singer has previously described being pregnant during the coronavirus pandemic as an “emotional roller-coaster”. She’s also said she thinks the baby will be a “daddy’s girl”.
Perry and Bloom got engaged on Valentine’s Day last year and have been dating since 2016 – minus a brief break-up in 2017. They got back together in 2018.
Perry, whose hits include Firework, Roar and California Gurls, announced she was pregnant in March, revealing the news in the music video for her single Never Worn White.
A month later, she revealed they were expecting a baby girl.

Bloom was previously married to Australian model Miranda Kerr from 2010 to 2013, and they share a son, Flynn.
Perry was married to British comedian Russell Brand from 2010 to 2012.
