The strongman, who played Ser Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane on the hit HBO series, raised the barbell from the floor for two seconds before roaring in celebration on Saturday.

The barbell could seen bending under the weights as a crowd cheered on the Icelandic weightlifter.

The 31-year-old, who is six feet and nine inches tall, told ESPN: “I believe today I could’ve done more, but what’s the point?

“I’m happy with this.”

The actor and athlete broke the previous record set by British strongman Eddie Hall, who became the first man to lift 500kg in 2016.

Bjornsson won the World’s Strongest Man competition in 2018.
