Daniel and Liam Poole: Father and son who vanished in Malaga may have ‘come to harm’
Written by News on 05/05/2019
Police are considering the possibility that two British men who have gone missing after travelling to Spain may have “come to harm”.
Father and son Daniel and Liam Poole, 46 and 22, from Burgess Hill in West Sussex, went to Malaga on 31 March.
Sussex Police said their family was “very concerned” because they had not been in contact since 1 April – something described as “out of character”.
They hired a grey Peugeot 308 when they got to Spain but that has not been returned to the firm it was loaned from.
The Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team is working on the enquiry, and liaising with Spanish authorities.
Detective Chief Inspector Emma Heater said: “We are working closely with the Spanish police.
“One possibility that must be considered, as they have not contacted family or friends, is that they have come to harm.
“Their family are very concerned about them as they last heard from them on 1 April. The lack of contact is out of character for the pair. The family are being supported by family liaison officers and are being kept informed.
“We know that Daniel and Liam hired a grey Peugeot 308 car when they got to Spain but this has not been returned to the car hire firm.
“We would like to hear from anyone who has seen them, the car or has any information about their whereabouts in Spain or any other location since 31 March.”
