Arrest made after shooting leaves man dead at house in North Ayrshire

A man has been arrested after a man was shot dead at a house in North Ayrshire.
Police Scotland say the gunman is alleged to have opened fire after entering the property in Nithsdale Road, Ardrossan, at around 4.50pm on Sunday.
The victim, a 42-year-old man, was found with serious injuries and died at the scene shortly afterwards.
He had been at the house with a 46-year-old woman, who was not injured, according to a police spokeswoman.
The spokeswoman added: “A 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and inquiries are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances of what happened.”
