Sky Sports pundits share their Christmas football stories

While Sky Sports serves up a feast of football at Christmas time, it’s a busy period for footballers.

But in between the crunch clashes, they try to make time to celebrate, too – and we have asked Sky Sports pundits to share their memories of playing during the festive period.

From Matt Le Tissier having one too many, but still netting the winner on Boxing Day, to Jamie Redknapp having to spend Christmas Day night with Neil ‘Razor’ Ruddock, they have some great stories to tell.

Boxing Day and beyond

The action resumes on Boxing Day as Southampton travel to Wembley to take on Tottenham and Liverpool host Swansea at Anfield. There’s a helping of Championship action as Brentford and Aston Villa meet at Griffin Park before the Premier League takes centre stage once more as Manchester City travel to Newcastle on December 27 and Crystal Palace host Arsenal on December 28.

New Year line-up

Focus moves north of the border as Celtic and Rangers look to end 2017 on a high with victory in the 410th Old Firm match on December 30, while there’s New Year’s Eve action in the Premier League as West Brom host Arsenal. Sky Sports ushers in 2018 with Manchester United’s trip to Everton and Brighton clash with Bournemouth on New Year’s Day. Arsenal host Chelsea at the Emirates on January 3 before the festive calendar comes to an end on January 4 as London rivals Spurs and West Ham clash at Wembley.
