Clear above the inversion with cloud below gradually thinning and breaking from the east from mid-morning leading to a largely dry afternoon with best of brighter spells developing in the east.
View: Severe wind chill across higher peaks. Worst of conditions expected early in the day, in the west and at lower levels. Gust figures above look to be too high.
